Welcome

We aim to be a friendly church, where newcomers - children and adults alike - are made welcome.  We hope there's something for everyone (so there's a mix of old and new), as we seek to worship and grow in discipleship.

We believe God speaks to us through the bible, and sermons reflect that.  Our worship style is simple and the people leading may not be wearing formal robes. We use a variety of music styles, both traditional hymns and modern worship songs.

We seek to come together, worship God and be equipped by His Spirit as He sends us out into the world.  We've got a variety of services to enable that to happen.  Services are at 10.15am each Sunday and Wednesday at 10.00am for communion.

History

Picture

The present church building dates from 1783, but it is thought that this has been a Christian place of worship since the 7th Century when some of the Celtic Saints might have preached here as we are on the journey from Old Melrose where there was a Priory where St Cuthbert was trained and Lindisfarne where St Aidan founded a monastery and Cuthbert also served. (making this place the oldest place of worship in Berwick).  We are named for St Boisil who was Prior at Old Melrose and St Bartholomew who is associated with places of healing from when the church supported a place for people with leprosy to be cared for in Spittal.  Click here for more about our history

How to find us

If you've moved into the area, or you're visiting Berwick, or you've lived here all your life, you're welcome.  If you used to come or you've never been, come along and we'd love to meet you.  We're located on the south bank of the Tweed in Berwick, just along from the old bridge, next to the docks (look up to see the Salmon weather-vane!)

We're about half a mile from Berwick upon Tweed town centre.  Please see the map for our location, or use TD15 2AJ for satnavs.

If you are coming along Main Street (into and out of Berwick), take the road (Brewery bank) by the Angel Inn (just down from Asda), which leads to Church Road.

Parking is in local streets.

If you live in Prior Park, the West End, St Boisil's, Hiveacress or Goldstone estates, East Ord or the other side of the A1 as far as Longridge, then this is your local parish church.
