Tweedmouth Parish Church

We aim to be a friendly church, where newcomers - children and adults alike - are made welcome.  We hope there's something for everyone (so there's a mix of old and new), as we seek to worship and grow in discipleship.

Our worship style is low-church and relaxed.  We use Mission Praise which has a mix of modern songs and traditional hymns.  We believe God speaks to us through the bible, and sermons reflect that.

If you've moved into the area, or you're visiting Berwick, or you've lived here all your life, you're welcome.  If you used to come or you've never been, come along and we'd love to meet you.  We're located on the south bank of the Tweed in Berwick, just along from the old bridge, next to the docks.

Our vision is Up, In, Around, Out: to Look up to God in Worship, Inwards in Discipleship, Around in community and Out in mission.

The present church building dates from 1783, but it is thought that this has been a Christian place of worship since the 7th Century (making this the place the oldest place of worship in Berwick).  Today we continue to serve God here and want to pass on the good news of Jesus, so that people from this and the next generation may know his love and follow him with their lives.
You are welcome to come in and worship with us at 10am on Sundays.  We have a Family Service on the 1st Sunday of each month and Holy Communion on the other Sundays   Children are welcome at all our services, and there is Junior Church (see Children & Youth) on the middle Sundays, that they can join in with if they would like.

The Modern Evening Service, on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 6pm has a block of modern worship songs and a more in-depth sermon.  The new Morning Praise service (see service times) also seeks to go deeper in Word and Worship.  As we share ministry across the parishes, church members from Tweedmouth also have the opportunity to a monthly evening Communion service at Scremerston and the monthly Creative Church (our Messy Church) at Spittal.
And, every Wednesday at 10am you are welcome to join us for a short, said service of Holy Communion, with coffee afterwards.

As for parish life, we have homegroups and prayer groups (see Discipleship), we run Alpha courses (see Christian Basics), and we have monthly coffee mornings (on the 1st Saturday of the month in the Church hall 10-11.30), a craft group and various social events - to which everyone is welcome.
