Spittal Parish Church

In 1867, Spittal became a seperate parish; but long before that, Christians have been showing God's love for others in this place.  The name Spittal comes from the word hospital, which existed here before the year 1234, where lepers were cared for.  We still seek to show God's care for people today as we live out our Christian faith.  We join together on Sunday mornings to be strengthened by God to be able to do so, and to give Him our worship.
Whether you are a Spittler, a visitor, or you've moved into the area, you are welcome to come and join with us for worship at St John's Church.  We meet on Sundays at 9am for Holy Communion, apart from the 1st Sunday of a month, which is an all-age relaxed shorter service at 4pm - see 1st@4 for more details.

We also have a monthly Creative Church for families (on the last Sunday of the month at 3pm), which children and adults enjoy together - with crafts, child-friendly worship and food - see Creative Church for more details.  You'd be very welcome to bring your family along.

In addition, we have 4 special evening Songs of Praise services in the year - at Easter, Sea Sunday, Harvest and Christmas - and you would be welcome at 6pm to each of these.
We are located on the Main Street in Lower Spittal, next to the First School, on the way to the promenade, (less than 2 miles from Berwick upon Tweed town centre).  For the satnav, the postcode TD15 1RD will help, but you need to come down the Billendean (if you are travelling from the A1, it is right at the roundabout where the sports centre is, down to the bottom of the hill and right onto the Main St), rather than Cow Road (which it might take you to).  Please see the map below for details.
