In 1867, Spittal became a seperate parish; but long before that, Christians have been showing God's love for others in this place. The name Spittal comes from the word hospital, which existed here before the year 1234, where lepers were cared for. We still seek to show God's care for people today as we live out our Christian faith. We join together on Sunday mornings to be strengthened by God to be able to do so, and to give Him our worship.
You are welcome to come and join with us at St John's Church, Sundays at 9am - or see the sub-page for more details for the Creative Church for families, on the last Sunday of every month at 3pm.
We are located on the Main Street in Old Spittal, next to the First School, on the way to the promenade. Please see the map below for details.
