Scremerston, Spittal and Tweedmouth parishes churches are a United Benefice. In everyday terms that means we share our ministers, have regular joint services and also have joint events and generally support each other.

Our communities are quite different even though we are close neighbours so clicking on one of the photos below will tell you a little more about each of us.

Scremerston parish church of St Peter is at the centre of the village. It has recently had kitchen and toilet facilities installed together with efficient heating, enabling the church to become a community asset throughout the week as well as on Sundays.
There is a monthly Family Service at 11am and once a month there is an evening Communion Service instead of the morning service at 11am.

Spittal parish church of St John is the most traditional feeling of our churches, with services having hymns mostly from  'Ancient & Modern' and is the only one of our churches to still have a pipe organ. The small congregation have a well-deserved reputation for hospitality, hosting Creative Church for families at 3pm on the last Sunday of each month instead of the usual 9am service (Holy Communion or Morning Praise).

Tweedmouth parish church is named for 2 saints, St Bartholomew and St Boisil. The congregation has people of all ages and there is an All Age service once a month. Our services are usually at 10am and are Holy Communion or Morning Praise. We sing traditional and modern songs and have informal activities in some services to help us all to learn about God.  Most months we also have a 'Modern Evening Service' which will have more in-depth teaching from the Bible.
