Mission Action Plans

Mission is a core part of what church is about. In simple terms it means showing people how much God loves each one of us. We aim to do that in how we live, both individually and when we come together for church events, on Sundays and during the week.

Our experience is that knowing God loves us makes a huge difference in our lives, even when times are really tough.
We try to be honest in our faith - we are always learning, we make mistakes but we believe that Jesus was both a man who lived in historical time and was and is also God and we can get to know Jesus personally. God helps us with his Holy Spirit to become more like Jesus in the way we live.

God invites us to experience his love for us and part of mission is explaining more about that to people.

A Mission Action Plan is a document we write together to help us focus on where we most need to improve or on specific projects.

We had achieved most of our goals on our previous mission action plans when our previous vicar moved to a new position so we're currently waiting for our new vicar's insights and vision for the future. Meanwhile, we've lots going on in our churches. Everything we do is part of our serving God, each other and to our communities.

Diocesan Vision

Our benefice is part of Newcastle Diocese (another church jargon word which means a geographical area under the leadership of a bishop). You can read the Diocesan Vision here
Finance Strategy

Churches need money as well as people to make things happen as well as looking after our historical buildings which are significant local landmarks. We want to honour God in the way we use the money we are given so you can read our finance strategy here
