Baptisms (Christenings)

Baptism is about becoming part of the church; it is about new birth and following the way of Jesus.

If you are considering baptism (sometimes called Christening) for yourself or for your child, then please contact us.

We would love to talk with you about what baptism is all about and how it relates to the Christian faith.  We will go through the promises you would be making and we would leave you with some decisions to make and a form to fill.

We ask you to bring the form back to us in a church service, and then we'll be in contact with you about dates: Please don't book any dates for a reception until you have seen us, as the date you want might not be available.

You are welcome to come to church any Sunday, but if you are thinking about having your child baptised, then come and see how we do baptisms here.
  • At Tweedmouth, they are on the 1st Sunday of every month in the family service at 10am;
  • At Scremerston, they are in the family service on the last Sunday of every month at 10.45am;
  • At Spittal, they are on the first Sunday of the month at 2pm, or it is also possible to have them at the 9am service or during the Creative church service.
